HR Partners

What were you looking for in your career?

After completing my degree in Occupational Therapy I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the business world. I wanted to work for a professional and successful organisation that had a great reputation for growing and developing their employees.

Why did you choose HR Partners Digby Morgan?

When I first started my search, I had not heard of HR Partners Digby Morgan, but after conducting some research into the firm and speaking to people in the industry, I soon learned of its great success and reputation in the market.

After attending the Graduate Assessment Day I was 100% convinced that this was an organisation that I would love to work for! The team was great and I was provided with an opportunity to meet Graduates from previous years, all of whom had since gone on to be well established Recruitment Consultants managing their own portfolio of clients.

Which division do you work in?

I manage all interim resourcing for the junior to mid end of the market (i.e. sub 100k positions). I work across all industry sectors and recruit a variety of HR positions. Since joining HR Partners I have also had an opportunity to recruit permanent positions.

Please describe a typical day?

The best thing about working at HR Partners Digby Morgan is the fact that every day is different, which makes describing a typical day quite difficult! Generally speaking though, the first thing I do when I get in of a morning is to check my emails and voicemail messages, most of which are a combination of both enquires from candidates and also clients ringing in with job briefs. The ability to multi-task and prioritise is probably one of the most important skills I use on a day to day basis, and something that I have become a lot better at since joining. Often I will be juggling a variety of projects at the one time, whether it be screening and short listing for a position, interviewing candidates, meeting with clients and taking job briefs for new positions or conducting marketing calls to develop new business! In summary, as mentioned, every day is different, and provides me with a new opportunity to learn and try something new!

What has your role at Digby Morgan given you from a self-development perspective?

Since completing the Graduate Program at HR Partners Digby Morgan I have developed a variety of new skills and knowledge! I now have a really solid understanding of the business world and generally have a much more commercial outlook than when I first started!

What advice would you give to candidates thinking of applying to the Associate programme?

The best advice I can give potential candidates is to be your self throughout the recruitment process! Don't be afraid to ask questions and most importantly have fun and relish the opportunity to learn!
