Six Critically Important Communication Skills that Recruiters Seek in Entry-Level Candidates

Recruiting is probably the most challenging yet one of the most important skills that a founder, CEO, hiring manager, or HR manager of a company must master.

If you hire only the best possible candidates, you’ll have the best possible company.

Once you realize how important the recruitment process is, you will know why your company performs the way it does, you’ll understand what must be changed, and you’ll be able to produce those significant positive changes that’ll change your company forever.

How do you recruit in such way? Start looking for skills! Knowledge and experience are two other aspects that you must pay attention to. However, skills are essential because they’re the result of knowledge and experience, the result of consistent practice, and the result of a healthy mindset. When you find extremely skilled employees, you’d better be sure that they’re also passionate and hardworking!

Communication Skills

Excellent communication is key to every aspect of our life, whether we’re referring to the personal, professional, or spiritual. When you learn how to communicate with other people, with yourself, or with the higher entity that you embrace, your life changes for the better. In the same way, bring employees that possess advanced communication skills and your company will change for the better.

Here’s a list of the most important communication skills you should seek in your future employees:

1. Listening

Skilled listeners will listen to the information you communicate to them without interpreting, analyzing, or preparing for a reply at the moment you talk to them. They listen, they openly assess your message, and ultimately, they communicate a relevant and useful reply.

2. Clarity

Writing and speaking clearly are super important because if your employees cannot communicate with each other clearly, the performance and results of the company will be chaotic.

3. Confidence

Interact with confidence with others and you’ll earn their respect. Be shy and anxious and you won’t be taken seriously. What type of employees do you want to speak and represent your company? Bring confident people and the growth will improve.

4. Empathy

Employees that are able to keep their leader’s or colleagues’ point of view in mind without interpreting it or taking it personally are severely needed in any professional organization. If someone “understands where you’re coming from”, he or she will be a better manager, employee, or department colleague.

5. Respect

Every employee must be respectful. They should respect themselves (this is harder these days) and they must respect the other colleagues and team leads. Without respect, there will be no order and therefore there will be no proper organization.

6. Open-mindedness

Closed minded individuals never help. They drag the team down by spreading their conservative thinking and affecting the team in a negative way. You’ll need open-minded individuals who are both creative and progress-oriented. These individuals will often care to communicate their inspiring ideas, and that’s always a plus for the team!
