job description

This organisation provides specialised healthcare services across Queensland. They are a division of a large ASX listed business. The organisational headcount is over 1,000 strong and is spread throughout Queensland, it is comprised of clinical, operational and support staff. This role will report to the General Manager whilst having a close working relationships with the senior management group reflecting the importance of the relationship between these key functions and will play a key role in the leadership, strategic direction and operations of this growing business.

You will lead a small team of HR professionals and will undertake a broad portfolio of projects and responsibilities to elevate the people function and create efficiencies within the business. Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with senior business leaders in a HR Partnering capacity to provide advice and counsel
  • Develop people management capability within your client group
  • Working across a multi-site environment, providing support and advice for HR issues and practices
  • Providing leadership and direction to a small HR team
  • Providing advice in the ER and IR space, interpreting awards and other industrial instruments.
  • Case management of grievances and disciplinary issues
  • Encourage a collaborative culture where staff are engaged, working towards shared goals.
  • Support the business in the implementation of new technology in the HR space
  • Managing various HR projects to create efficiencies and build capability
  • Interacting with the OH&S team to ensure best practice is adhered to across the business.
  • Undertake travel where necessary to assist in HR matters
  • Recruitment for Corporate / head office and senior operational roles

You will work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement people strategies. You will have a confident consultative style, outstanding relationship building skills and a team oriented approach. You will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and complete duties in a time sensitive environment.

You will enjoy working in a changing organisation where you can contribute at both a strategic and operational level. Tertiary qualifications in HR or a business related field will be essential as will your ability to consult and engage with a professional, technically astute cohort.
