job description

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide essential HR and ER operational support, drive organisational change, and ensure a positive employee experience. Our client is a growing organisation, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and transformative workplace culture.

This position will be reporting directly to the General Manager of the organisation, and therefore will be a stand alone true HR Generalist position.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong connections with stakeholders to support effective HR operations.
  • HR & ER Guidance: Offer accurate and practical advice on performance management, employee relations, and change management. Lead workplace investigations.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Oversee job advertisements, screen resumes, coordinate candidate communications and interviews, and manage the onboarding process.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and seminars, ensuring compliance with Fair Work and labour laws.
  • Employee Support: Address employee HR-related queries, assist in organising engagement initiatives, conduct performance reviews,
  • Policy & Procedure Management: Continuously review and improve HR policies and procedures, ensuring they align with best practices and legal requirements.
  • Workers Compensation: Manage workers compensation processes and liaise with providers to support affected employees.
  • Project Participation: Participate in and lead HR-related projects, ensuring successful implementation and completion.
  • Workplace Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with WHS policies and legislation, promoting a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related field.
  • Experience in NDIS/ Disability sector or Community Services is preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a HR Generalist role, or experience as a stand alone HR Advisor.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the disability sector or healthcare environment is preferred.
