job description

Our client, a relatively new division within the government arena is seeking a capability & OD Manager to contribute to the design and delivery of capability and organisational development initiatives to support their Strategic Plans. This is a maternity leave cover role over a 14 month contract term. With that said it is certainly not a "baby sitting" contract, this is a company that is going through change and really wanting to develop into a more mature function with this critical component at the forefront.

Reporting into the Director - People management who has a very bubbly, warm and down to earth style you will be an integral member of the People Management team which provides strategic and administrative human resource advice and support to all employees. Your role directly manages the Professional Development Adviser, who supports the delivery of a range of human resource matters relating to the employment life-cycle with an emphasis on Member and employee induction, and professional development activities and programs.

Key accountabilities:

  • First 6 months will have a key focus on workforce analysis and strategies & identifying the current gaps in operations
  • Responsible for the development and integration of human resource programs and associated projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.
  • Design and deliver the organisational development strategy through the oversight of the performance management process and system, and developing exceptional employee experiences in areas of leadership, L&D, social connection and inclusion.
  • Lead the design and development of organisational and capability development solutions
  • Capability to design, develop, implement and evaluate innovative solutions to unique business situations

Key selection criteria:

  • Proven experience as a senior capability and organisational development practitioner within a complex organisation and ability to work within ambiguity!
  • Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of effective learning and development strategies, trends and delivery methodologies in a service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and managing innovative organisation wide learning and organisational development initiatives in a complex and changing environment.

Further to this, the personality type we are looking for is someone who can step in and understand the landscape without "rocking the boat" but someone assertive enough that can hold their ground and influence legacy or more challenging senior stakeholders.
