job description

This organisation has an enviable reputation for their culture and their people and are now seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join their team for a 3 month contract.

While this is a Senior Advisor position, the role specifically requires expertise in ER and case management.


About the role

The duties include:
  • Conduct workplace investigations in line with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Coach and advise leaders on matters relating to performance improvement, assisting leaders with the development of performance improvement plans and informal performance improvement processes.
  • Coach and advise leaders on matters relating to workplace behaviours and matters of misconduct, with the aim to improve leadership capability, workplace culture and relationships within the affected team/area.
  • Assist leaders to deliver disciplinary outcomes resulting from workplace investigations and performance improvement processes.
  • Coach and advise leaders on matters relating to fitness for work (non-work related injuries/illnesses) to ensure any adjustments made (temporary or permanent) are reasonable and documented and matters monitored and escalated appropriately.
  • Conduct analysis on case management data to identify root causes and insights related to conduct, performance and fitness for work (non-work related) issues.
  • Articulate recommended improvement actions to leaders and drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage Senior Principals as required to provide insight to strategic people and culture improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare written submissions for external claims in collaboration with Employee Relations as required and represent the Corporation in conciliation hearings before the Fair Work Commission, Industrial Magistrates Court and Equal Opportunity Commission as required.
  • Prepare written submissions for disputes in collaboration with Employee Relations as required and assist the Manager – Employee Relations to represent the Corporation in hearings and disputes before the Fair Work Commission, Industrial Magistrates Court and Equal Opportunity Commission as required.

About You
  • Degree qualification in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
  • Considerable HR generalist experience in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.
  • Considerable experience coaching, supporting and advising leaders on a range of HR matters, to achieve improvement in employee experience and business outcomes.
  • Considerable experience resolving workplace grievances and disputes and supporting leaders to manage performance, disciplinary and misconduct matters, at all levels.
  • Considerable experience in identifying and mitigating HR related risks with ability to resolve complex problems and issues to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Considerable experience interpreting and providing advice on industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
