job description

WHS & Enterprise Risk Manager – Lead Safety, Risk and Site Security

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior WHS leadership role that blends hands-on safety oversight with strategic responsibility for enterprise risk and site security.

HR Partners is proud to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. This role goes beyond compliance — it’s about embedding a practical, proactive safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and reshaping how safety and risk are understood and acted on at every level of the business.

The Opportunity

You’ll report into senior leadership and be the go-to expert across WHS, environmental risk, and site security. This includes owning and evolving the safety management system, leading site-wide safety initiatives, coordinating regulatory compliance and incident investigations, and playing a key role in strategic risk planning.

There’s also a strong focus on security leadership, so prior experience managing access, protocols, and emergency response will be well regarded.

What You’ll Tackle:

  • Consolidate and elevate safety, risk and environmental systems in a fast-paced and tightly regulated setting

  • Provide expert, grounded advice to senior leaders, operational managers and front-line teams

  • Drive capability in psychosocial risk and safety leadership across the business

  • Manage site audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement plans

  • Lead and coordinate site security protocols and emergency response planning

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to embed a culture of safety and accountability

What You’ll Bring:

  • Formal qualifications in WHS and a minimum of 5 years in a senior WHS role

  • Deep knowledge of WHS legislation, risk frameworks and environmental standards

  • Practical leadership style – approachable, hands-on, and confident in high-trust environments

  • Strong investigation and reporting skills; experience managing hazardous chemicals and plant safety is essential

  • Ability to work across operational, technical, and leadership levels to influence and lead change

  • RTW Coordinator certification and training & assessment credentials (desirable)

Why This Role?

This isn’t a role where you’ll be confined to policy writing or sitting behind a desk. You’ll be out in the business, partnering with people, rolling up your sleeves, and building something sustainable. The safety culture journey is still evolving – and the business is looking for someone who can shape that narrative, not just manage it.

This is a role for someone who wants to lead, drive performance, and be trusted as a key part of the broader leadership team.
