job description

HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for a Learning and Development Coordinator to join our client site in Townsville. This role is a temporary role until 15 June 2024 with the potential of extension. This role is Monday-Friday paying $73.46 per hour with an immediate start.



About the role:

  • Model positive safety behaviours and lead Workplace Health and Safety compliance of relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements so Everyone Goes Home Safe Today and everyday.
  • Deliver an outcomes-focused and value-adding culture where leaders and staff take personal accountability for delivering on the Corporate Plan and policies.
  • Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
  • Lead, develop and support a team to meet service expectations of the organisation, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the organisation to provide comprehensive advice, education and service delivery, whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholder at all levels.
  • Lead the development and implementation of learning / training development systems and projects as determined by the General Manager Health, Safety and Training.
  • Coordinate the learning and development framework, including management of the learning management system (LMS).
  • Coordinate and review the process of ensuring training needs are identified and managed to ensure all staff are working with the relevant legislative framework.
  • Coordinate professional development opportunities for career progression opportunities for staff.
  • Provide advice on the responsibilities as they apply to legislative funding, trainee and apprentice wage classifications and progression, and ensure compliance with relevant administrative directives.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes and service delivery, including administrative directives, procedures, and forms.

About the individual:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Training, Education, Leadership, Management or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience working in a similar role in a diverse multi-disciplined organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading a team within a supportive and collaborative work culture.
  • Previous experience in management of programs including the development and implementation of such.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills with the ability to drive change with key stakeholders and industries and solve complex problems through the design and implementation of effective solutions.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships, balancing multiple and diverse stakeholder needs, and delivering customer-centric solutions that also meet organisational objectives
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation and the interpretation of industrial instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and able to respond to changing demands and priorities efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrated personal resilience and self-awareness combined with business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
