HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for a Principal Information Advisor to join our client site in Logan. This role is a temporary role Monday-Friday from 7/5/24 until the end of July 2024. Paying $65.77 per hour.


About the role:

To provide senior specialist advice, analysis and partnership with stakeholders to uphold good governance and decision-making practices through the transparent management of information and privacy matters.

The position is also responsible for managing projects, engaging widely with stakeholders, applying sound judgement by investigating and reporting complex governance and/or information and privacy matters and making recommendations with respect to such matters.

  • Apply expert specialist knowledge and provide advice regarding information management and privacy compliance to support the client in meeting its legislative and community obligations and expectations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to educate and raise awareness of information management and privacy matters and the role and responsibility of staff and leaders to embed these functions into their work processes and procedures.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge of current local government and industry information management and privacy requirements and best practice.
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems and processes to proactively identify, record, monitor and report on information management and privacy issues, risks and cases.
  • Support the Program Leader to investigate and respond to matters arising from breach of privacy complaints.
  • Deliver education and awareness initiatives, including facilitation at workshops and meetings, about strategic information management and privacy practices and obligations including providing training and ongoing support for users of the information management framework and systems.
  • Support the Program Leader to coordinate the development of business improvements that align with the strategic direction of the Branch.
  • Support in the identification of team training and development needs, gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor system, process and procedure enhancements to maximise efficiency of operations and ensure continuous business improvement.
  • Monitor and identify policy gaps and drive policy change for improved outcomes on Program matters.
  • Initiate business improvement innovations and cross functional collaborations to best utilise resources to deliver service excellence.
  • Drive strategic business enhancements and policy change projects and deliver quality project outcomes.

About the individual:

  • Formal tertiary qualifications ideally in law, governance, information management, risk or compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current strategic information management and privacy legislation, frameworks, principles and practices, ideally in a State or Local Government context.
  • Proven experience leading with influence and providing leadership of thought in the specialist areas the role is accountable for, including leading a broad range of stakeholders who do not report to this position.
  • Expert knowledge in the use and understanding of computerised business systems and databases.
  • Specialist knowledge including the interpretation and implementation of complex administrative and integrity legislation.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a specialist technical environment.
  • Expert reporting skills with extensive experience in producing complex compliance strategy reports and preparing business cases, correspondence and briefing material for senior, executive management, and elected officials.
  • Demonstrated advanced engagement and facilitation skills including delivering education and awareness initiatives about information management and privacy principles and practices.
